CAS Color Q & Sketches Mix Up!

Last one for the night....I'm mixing my challenges.    Colours from Color Q and sketch from CAS Colour & Sketches!

We don't often get to use the AWESOME sentiment here in Blighty....it' just not in us!  But why wouldn't this be an AWESOME birthday with a cake like this!  :-)

Again with the night time pics :-(

This is made using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating punch (lifesaver) from Stampin' Up.  It's not overly obvious in the night time pic, but I've added detail to the edge of the card and topper with my pokey tool.  I think it could have done with  mat under the topper....maybe to add a bit more colour.  I might give that a go and post tomorrow.  For now, it is what it is....and I hope you like it!

Catching up with Less is More

Tuesday already and only just getting a chance to peruse my favourite blogs.  Over on Less is More, it's a recipe - Snippets - and Chrissie's birthday.  Happy Birthday, Chrissie :-)

Problem with card making at night....rubbish pics!

I've made this card by punching snippet flowers from the mat ....ssshhhhh!  Don't tell anyone!  It's using the Bordering Blooms and one of my favourite colour combos, Old Olive and Cajun Craze. I've finished it off with a bit of liquid pearls for the flower centres and a trail of pearls through the vine....although quality of pic and all that...sigh!  That's the problem with crafting at night....ropey pics!

I'm also entering this in the following challenges to:
Pixie's Crafty Workshop {Snippets and GD on LIM}

Hope you like it.

Puffin Muffin

Evening All!

I have a commissioned card today and an interesting challenge blog that I'm going to enter it in. Over on Muse, there are 3 simple rules:

  • Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse.
  • Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow members' submissions.
  • Vote for 3 of your fellow members' submissions that you find inspiring.
Here's mine:

and here's the Muse Card that inspired it:

So I'm hoping the inspiration is obvious!  Different birds, but birds non the less but it's the sentiment that made me laugh.  Although in the end I went with a Happy Birthday message to the guy's lovely girlfriend, it was very nearly a "To my Puffin Muffin" after seeing this card :-).  Long story short....I heard rumours of his girlfriend making a muffin with a puffin decoration when they first got together....awwwww!  So sweet!  She's a keen twitcher too!  I think she'll like it :-)

Thanks for looking!

Finishing off the weekend....

....with another Christmas card in the colours from  CAS Colours and Sketches.  The grey morning light isn't doing it justice..honest!

This is the colour challenge:

I've used Many Merry Stars stamp set from Stampin' Up and the Star thinlets.  I've stamped directly on to the kraft card blank to make a background and embellished with more stars and banners.

I have to say...I like it better in the morning light :-)

I'm also entering this in the following challenges:

More Christmas Stash

Evening All,

A couple of cards that finished my weekend off tonight.  I would have posted them yesterday had my 'puter not decide to do a 6 hour upgrade!!!

Inspiration for this one comes from CAS Colours and Sketches:

I've used the Project Life December Wonder stamp set from Stampin' Up with the colours from the challenge to make this Christmas card.  I'm finding non-traditional christmas colours work quite well and give a contemporary feel to Christmas :-)

I finished it off with a few gems for that bit of Christmas sparkle!

I'm also entering this in the following challenge:

Addicted To Stamps {Holiday}

Thanks for looking....stand by for card number two!

Definitely Purple!

Morning all.

I've been stalking The Other Fickle Pixie again and she's entering in to the Clear It Out Challenge.  It's my first time entering with them....Theme:  Colour-Purple Stash: Purple things.  I think I have it covered.  It's defnitely Purple and the purple ink is from my stash....does that count?

I'll give it a go:

I've used the Garden in Bloom Stampin' Up set with Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder.  The butterflies just add a bit of contrast in Daffodil Delight.

I've used my sponger (new favourite item) and blended Pear Pizazz around the edges.  I finished it off with a bit of Glamour Dust and a sentiment from the versatile Endless Birthday wishes and.....boom!  Another flower card :-)

Hope you like it

I have a template and I'm not afraid to use it!

After Lee Ann's comment...I thought why not make multiples!  Thanks. Lee Ann!

So here's another beachy theme for Less Is More.

It's the Wetlands Stampin' Up set again, this time set in the sand dunes (done with a bit of masking).  I've added birds in the distance (from Inkilious) And the theme of the card is simply....ENJOY!

I'm also entering this in the following challenges:
Kraftin Kimmie Stamps {Beach}

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Life's a Beach

Feeling like an early bird today.  Family is still in bed, the house is quiet so a quick bit of stampin' before the football and dancing madness begins!

I'm joining Less is More again this week.  Thanks for all the lovely comments last week on my One-Layer card.  It was a real boost!  Today I've used the Stampin' Up set Wetlands - well, I said I was feeling like an early bird :-)

Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise give it the beachy feeling and I've added a greeting made from the Endless Birthday Wishes set (love it!!)

Right - let the weekend activities begin!  Off to get the kids up!"

Christmas in July

Evenin' All!

Another one for the Christmas stash!

I've just my mini sponger thingy (not sure what it's really called) and a shed-load of various blue inks from Stampin' Up with the White Christmas stamp set.  It's one of those sets that make building scenes really easy.  I threw in a Santa Claus for something for the bears to look at :-)

I'm happy with the result but it took a while to ink...not sure I'll be making many of these, but I think this set can sit on my desk for a while.  The options are endless :-)

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Simply Create Too {Get Ahead For Christmas}
Crafty Calendar {Christmas in July}
Sweet Stampin Challenge {Christmas in July}
Quirky Crafts {Christmas in July}

One Layer.....and Masculine?

It's always a favourite......Cards for men! That's the theme on Simply Less is More this week. Oh and it has to be one layer too!

For such a simple card, I've used three Stampin' Up sets!  The splodge is from Sheltering Tree, the flowers are from World of Dreams and the sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life.

I've used the colours from the challenge on The Paper Players too;  Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate and Sahara Sand.

I asked my hubby if this was man enough, and I think it just about scrapes through!  It's all right for an old man, apparently!

Thanks for looking
