One Layer.....and Masculine?

It's always a favourite......Cards for men! That's the theme on Simply Less is More this week. Oh and it has to be one layer too!

For such a simple card, I've used three Stampin' Up sets!  The splodge is from Sheltering Tree, the flowers are from World of Dreams and the sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life.

I've used the colours from the challenge on The Paper Players too;  Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate and Sahara Sand.

I asked my hubby if this was man enough, and I think it just about scrapes through!  It's all right for an old man, apparently!

The Crazy Challenge : Children's Games

So glad  I saw The Crazy Challenge this week.  It's Children's Games.  It reminded me of stamps I have from many moons ago....and with Father's Day in mind I've picked all the boy games from my collection.

I'm entering the one above in the challenge.  It's my favourite one, but I thought I'd post the others too...they're like a set :-)

I'm also entering this in the Colourful Challenge on The Paper Shelter. It maybe CAS, but it's a lovely coloured pic - even if I say so myself :-)

I'm entering the rugby player in Crafty Sentiments Challenge where they are looking for a cards for a Man!

I'm entering this on the the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Something for the boys.

 I'm also entering the young footballer on the Clear it Out Challenge where they have an Anything Goes challenge...and these stamps are definitely from my stash.  It's nice to give them an airing!

Another Blokey Card

Nooooooo!! Why would they test us this way?  Admit it….we all struggle with blokey cards, don’t we?  The ladies over at Less is More are really testing us with the theme of ‘Masculine’ this week.  Here’s my attempt:

Very simple! I choose to believe this is for a close, male friend who’s slightly in touch with his feminine side and won’t read too much in to the BIG love heart that features oh so obviously . 
I’ve used the friend heart from “I {Heart} Hearts” and the dog and cat from “All in the family”, and the colours Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede – all from Stampin’ Up! I’ve backed the image on to dotty paper from the Brights range.
They’re very masculine colours at least and not a hint of glitter, bling or ribbon….just string!  That’s manly right?
So….have I got it right?

Up, Up and Away!

Over on Cupcake Challenges this week they have an “Up in the Air – with Optional Green”.  A perfect opportunity to try out a card using  my new “All in the Family” stamps from Stampin’ Up.  This card will fit in with the challenge on The Stamp Fairy too where they are asking us to "Show us your green" :-).



This is a 15cm square card (my preferred card size).  I’ve stamped the little man on to white card and dangled him from some paper-pieced balloons.  The papers are from the Brights collection and the floaty greeting is from “Heard From the Heart”.   I’ve finished the card off with a twist of whisper white ribbon.
Now as to why I have a little man dangling from balloons….who knows! But I’m loving playing with all my new gear, so why not!

Blokey Birthday Card…?

Ok….so it has a little glitter on it!  Some men like that…don’t they? 
I was lucky enough to win a recent prize draw at a Blue Jelly Stampin' event so I have my first set of SU stamps….and what better sentiment to use on a blokey card .

I made this card especially for the challenge over on "Less is More", but it fits the bill for the Coffee and Cream challenge on the Simon Says Challenge too.

The images are from Pink Petticoat and I’ve coloured them with my alcohol ink pens.  I’ve topped the cakes of with a bit of glitter…et voila.  I nearly over did it with the bling….but suddenly remember what  a friend’s boyfriend said recently “Blokes don’t really care about the card”.
Well, I’m choosing to believe that some do !!
