You know when you have an idea in your head….

….but no matter how hard you try you can’t transpose it on to card?  Well, that’s how I feel today!  Todays challenge over on LIM is One layer embossing….and here’s my attempt!

IMG_9572

I’ve had a go at resist embossing! (I think that’s what it’s called!)  I’ve embossed what I consider to be an early morning scene using Silhouette Sentiments and Pocket Silhouettes in black.  I’ve then used a mask and inked in the sun using Tangerine Tango and Real Red.  And finally, I finished it off using Marina Mist and Wasabi green.  Added a sentiment from Heard from the Heart and voila….a mediocre card!  LOL!

I’m going to give this another go later in the week….so any tips for improvement would be gratefully received!  I think top of the list is BUY AN ANTISTATIC BAG!!

Thanks for looking

  3. Perhaps the reason you aren't happy with it is because you feel it's a little "busy" for a CAS card - that said .... it's still a lovely card - as Carla and Gerda agree!

  5. Fab images and lovely colouring, but I agree with Kathy, perhaps it's too much for a LIM card? I do love it though!

  7. This is absolutely stunning - a beautiful sunset scene, but I agree with Kathy and Lizy; it's a bit "more" than "less" - gorgeous, nonetheless!!

  8. I think that a little talc on a cotton ball can help if you don't have an anti-static bag handy... those errant tiny grains of embossing powder are hardly visible before embossing, but afterwards look enormous!
If you want to use this kind of image for a CAS card it's often a good idea to mask off a panel for your image, so that there are still areas of white space around your scene.
Often too, the idea of emboss resist is to use a clear embossing powder over white card or some that you have coloured and then add it it with subsequent layers, so that different colours you have used are preserved as you build up more.
    Have fun with it!
    Homily over!
Thanks so much for joining us with this great technique.
