Blokey Birthday Card…?

Ok….so it has a little glitter on it!  Some men like that…don’t they?
I was lucky enough to win a recent prize draw at a Blue Jelly Stampin' event so I have my first set of SU stamps….and what better sentiment to use on a blokey card Smile.
3 Squares
I made this card especially for the challenge over on "Less is More", but it fits the bill for the Coffee and Cream challenge on the Simon Says Challenge too.

The images are from Pink Petticoat and I’ve coloured them with my alcohol ink pens.  I’ve topped the cakes of with a bit of glitter…et voila.  I nearly over did it with the bling….but suddenly remember what  a friend’s boyfriend said recently “Blokes don’t really care about the card”.
Well, I’m choosing to believe that some do !!Smile

Let me know what you think.  Thanks for reading…

Spring is on the way...

...and what better way to celebrate then to break out the spring colours from Pink Petticoat!  I couldn't resist the new Creative Cardmaking Special featuring Pink Petticoat! Lovely!

So I've used the daisy backing paper and images from Spring Wishes to make these Mother's Day Cards.  I've created the borders with my Fiskars punch... it is my tool of choice and features heavily through my card making.  Then I've finished the cards of with the obligatory glamour dust and occasion gem, and ribbon from my stash.  The greetings are simply printed using the computer, cut out and edged with distress ink (or anything that you can lay your hands on.

I think they work quite well :-)

Let me know what you think.

I know it’s gone, but….

I wanted to show off the Valentine’s Card I made for my husband.  It’s my first twisted easel card.
SmileIMG_8823
I’ve used Pink Petticoat papers (again!) from the Old Fashion Girl range, and one of my new Fizzy Moon stamps!  Now, I’m not a cutesy stamp person…but I kinda like the silly “bear dressed as a bear” range.

I’ve coloured the image with my promarkers (of course) and used my nestabilities for the circle and heart shapes.

I finished the card of with a ribbon twist on each side and a bit of bling with the heart gems.

I think he liked it…but then it’s hard to tell at 6am on a Monday morning!!

I've entered this is the "I {heart} you" challenge over on Cupcake Crafts and  "Love"over on Crafty Calendar Challenge.
Hope you like it and thanks for reading Smile

Daisies and Dragon flies…

Now I don’t know if you actually get green daisies but I have a lot of green scraps, several daisy punches and my mum-in-laws birthday coming up soon….and I bet she likes green Smile
I’ve made this card before with blue (check out my gallery) but I wanted to use the so-in-vogue kraft card.  This is a trifold card, but you can make it five-panelled if you have the time.  I think I went a little mad with the dragon flies on this…but it kinda works.

I’ve just realised I have to put a greeting on this one….but not tonight!!
Thanks for stopping by….hope you come back again soon Smile

Valentine Chocolates!

Finally!  An excuse to make chocolates!  Not just any chocolates….kid-free Valentine’s chocolates!  Yay!
Don’t get me wrong….I love making sweets with the kids….but they always want to do it and never let me have a go! LOL!
So I’ve had a play for a couple of hours tonight and it’s soo much fun!

….now what to do with them!!  Hmmmm!

Well....I can use them to enter the blog challenges over at Simon says.... because they are indeed "any thing but a card" and The Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge as they are very "Valentine" Smile.

Well, crafty distraction over.  Back to cards for the next post.  I'm going to try the challenge over on The Card Patterns Blog if I get chance tomorrow Smile.

First Wedding Invitations of the Year.

I’ve been making wedding invitations this week…the first of the year!  It’s the first ime I’ve used lace on an invitation and I like the look of it!  I can see a trend starting here…..vintage wedding invitations!  Although these aren’t very vintage-like.  Unfortunately, the bride-to-be for this wedding wanted approximately 600 folder style invitations, with 3 inserts in each!!!  I didn’t fancy all that distressing!!
As you might have guessed, I’ve used pink petticoat papers again, sweet flourishes I believe, printed on to pearlised paper to give it a shimmer.  I’ve trimmed it with lace and finished it with ribbon and a bow.

This second one was specifically created for this wedding.  As this was for an Asian wedding there are three occasions – a whole weekend of wedding parties.  This invite folds out to give the details of all three occasions….I was quite proud of this design.
The main theme of the invitations was lace, so this is trimmed with lace and ribbon on the front, and finished off with golden gems.

I love weddings!  Can't wait for the season to start....properly :-)
Hope you like them.
Stop by again soon....I'm off to look for a blog challenge now :-)

After weeks of deliberation….

My first official post!  Yay! So…being quite new to blogging, you’ll probably see my format change several times before I settle on a design but hopefully that won’t distract from my creations.
A quick bit about me….I am mum to 3 little darlings, a full time worker and a big fan of all things crafty Smile

I trawl the internet (almost) daily in search of inspiration and sit for hours surrounded by paper, pens, glitter and glue….and sometimes I actually make something!

So to my recent inspiration, and the reason for my first post….Valentine’s Day!  I love Valentine’s Day.  Romance, flowers, chocolates….and a time for every crafter to find quirky stamps, love hearts and their stash of red papers to make in to Valentine’s cards.  So after trawling the internet on the weekend, I found these digi stamps and I love ‘em.  Hop over to Digital Card fun to download them now.  This is what I did with them….

I've used papers from my fave supplier Pink Petticoat (Liz's papers will feature a lot on my pages :-) ) and coloured the images with my promarkers.  With a few gems and a bit of ribbon thrown in, I'm loving them.

Here's some close ups of my favourites:

I'd love to know what you think.

Thanks for looking...hope you come back :-)
