Pals Paper Arts Colour Challenge

Afternoon!

The last thing any of us want to do on a weekend is rush about.  We're going on holiday in 9 days!  9 DAYS!  The house is a mess, there's washing to do and holiday shopping to be done...but I just wanna make cards!  Meh!  There's always lunchtimes next week :-)

So I've spent the last hour or so making a card for Pals Paper Arts:

And here it is:

I've used the World of Dreams and Gorgeous Grunge stamps sets from Stampin' Up and the Butterfly thinlets.  I masked a circle and sponged a background with Pool Party.  I then stamped the leaves in Mint Macaron and added some grunge in Tip Top Taupe.  I punched and inked flowers out of whisper white and added the butterfly on top.

Here's a close up of the butterfly showing the finishing touches of liquid pearls.  

Very happy with the result :-)

Monochrome in Wisteria Wonder

Evening!

Purple seems to be the order of a lot of challenges this week.  I've zero'd in on the Colour Me this week and a Wisteria Wonder Monochromatic challenge.  (Now with updated photos!  Hate taking pics at night!)

I've used the grasses out of the World of Dreams Stamp Set from Stampin up! and, of course, Wisteria Wonder card and ink :-).  I stamped the images on to whisper white card and blended ink around the edges.  I matted this on to Wisteria Wonder card and embossed lines to frame the image.  Finally I fixed it to the front of a 5x7 card using stampin' dimensions.

It's a bit hard to tell but I added a bit of glamour dust to add a bit of texture. All done!

Less is More - Berry Shades

Morning all

I'm joining the Less is More ladies again this weekend.  They have a colour challenge: Berry Shades!  I've opted for purples cos...well...why wouldn't you!

Quite a simple card today which took a surprisingly long time to make.  Probably because it was my third or fourth attempt!!


I settled with using the Summer Silhouettes stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I masked off my card and pierced a border with my pokey tool.  I finished it off with a little liquid pearls and a sentiment which sums up what I'm going to be doing today.....

CAS Color Q & Sketches Mix Up!

Last one for the night....I'm mixing my challenges.    Colours from Color Q and sketch from CAS Colour & Sketches!

We don't often get to use the AWESOME sentiment here in Blighty....it' just not in us!  But why wouldn't this be an AWESOME birthday with a cake like this!  :-)

Again with the night time pics :-(

This is made using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating punch (lifesaver) from Stampin' Up.  It's not overly obvious in the night time pic, but I've added detail to the edge of the card and topper with my pokey tool.  I think it could have done with  mat under the topper....maybe to add a bit more colour.  I might give that a go and post tomorrow.  For now, it is what it is....and I hope you like it!

Finishing off the weekend....

....with another Christmas card in the colours from  CAS Colours and Sketches.  The grey morning light isn't doing it justice..honest!

This is the colour challenge:

I've used Many Merry Stars stamp set from Stampin' Up and the Star thinlets.  I've stamped directly on to the kraft card blank to make a background and embellished with more stars and banners.

I have to say...I like it better in the morning light :-)

More Christmas Stash

Evening All,

A couple of cards that finished my weekend off tonight.  I would have posted them yesterday had my 'puter not decide to do a 6 hour upgrade!!!

Inspiration for this one comes from CAS Colours and Sketches:

I've used the Project Life December Wonder stamp set from Stampin' Up with the colours from the challenge to make this Christmas card.  I'm finding non-traditional christmas colours work quite well and give a contemporary feel to Christmas :-)

I finished it off with a few gems for that bit of Christmas sparkle!

Definitely Purple!

Morning all.

I've been stalking The Other Fickle Pixie again and she's entering in to the Clear It Out Challenge.  It's my first time entering with them....Theme:  Colour-Purple Stash: Purple things.  I think I have it covered.  It's defnitely Purple and the purple ink is from my stash....does that count?

I'll give it a go:

I've used the Garden in Bloom Stampin' Up set with Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder.  The butterflies just add a bit of contrast in Daffodil Delight.

I've used my sponger (new favourite item) and blended Pear Pizazz around the edges.  I finished it off with a bit of Glamour Dust and a sentiment from the versatile Endless Birthday wishes and.....boom!  Another flower card :-)

Life's a Beach

Feeling like an early bird today.  Family is still in bed, the house is quiet so a quick bit of stampin' before the football and dancing madness begins!

I'm joining Less is More again this week.  Thanks for all the lovely comments last week on my One-Layer card.  It was a real boost!  Today I've used the Stampin' Up set Wetlands - well, I said I was feeling like an early bird :-)

Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise give it the beachy feeling and I've added a greeting made from the Endless Birthday Wishes set (love it!!)

Right - let the weekend activities begin!  Off to get the kids up!"

Summer Flowers

So I have the new Garden in Bloom set from Stampin' Up!  It's lovely...but my creativity is stunted! After a whole week of looking at them, I finally cracked them open and stamped....a row of flowers!

I've had a go at the "Tan, White and one bright color" challenge on Cas-ual Fridays today.  I chose to go with a bright pink.  Nothing says summer more than pink! But I found it hard not to keep reaching for my other colours.  In my head, this card was far more dramatic!!  But sticking with the rules of the challenge here it is:

The Crazy Challenge : Children's Games

So glad  I saw The Crazy Challenge this week.  It's Children's Games.  It reminded me of stamps I have from many moons ago....and with Father's Day in mind I've picked all the boy games from my collection.

I'm entering the one above in the challenge.  It's my favourite one, but I thought I'd post the others too...they're like a set :-)

I'm also entering this in the Colourful Challenge on The Paper Shelter. It maybe CAS, but it's a lovely coloured pic - even if I say so myself :-)

New Stampin' Up Colours!

Evening all

I've been checking out the CAS Colour and Sketch Challenge following my success the other week. This week we''re challenged to use the newest Stampin' Up Colours.

Yeah....I'd love to have them too but I'm still waiting on my order coming through!  So instead I've used the nearest colours I have which are Calypso Coral, Baja Breeze and good ol' Crumb Cake :-)

I've punched these heart balloons out of the designer papers from Salebration, the string of the balloon is from Hello Life and the birthday greeting is from Butterfly Basics.  I think that set is definitely my favourite at the mo....until I get my new order at least :-)

So I'm entering this in to the CAS Colour and Sketches Challenge.

I'm also entering this on the Clear it Out Challenge where they have an Anything Goes challenge.

Faux Stitching

Morning All

Occasionally, friends ask us to make personalised cards and I photo cards are usually a favourite....especially for kids.  I made this for my lovely friend's little sister.  We all recently went to see Disney on Ice and like any other self-respecting little girl (mine included) Aman is a huge Elsa fan.  Using one of the layout ideas from Craft Artist I've made this memento....and I heard she loved it.

I'm entering this in to the challenge with the Crafty Card Makers this week....Stitching, Faux or Real.  I hope you like it :-)

Something Different?

So I've been stalking The Other Fickle Pixie again and she has entered rather a lovely bokeh effect card in the Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge.  Please nip over and leave her a comment :-)

This is the sketch on Happy Little Stampers May - so just sneaking in (hopefully) in time!  It's 3:30am!

Recently I've been spending my time zentangling.  It takes hours - it's very addictive!! But it takes me away from my card making sooooo....this is my first attempt at combining the two!

It's different, don't you think?  Maybe I need a few more Zentangling Yoga sessions to add a bit more interest, but I think there might just be hope here:-)

Color Throwdown : Summer is coming!

Evening all

After a lovely day in Derbyshite with the family, what better way to finish the day then with a bit of card making!  I'm off with the Challenges again, playing with the Color Throwdown Challenge first.  Summer is definitely getting closer and these are such lovely, lazy summer colours!

It's actually Coral Pink, Light Yellow and Spring Green....although on my monitor the sample yellow looks a bit pinky!

So here it is:

It's inspired by Brandy's Cards (my favourite youtuber!) but the Butterfly Basics stamp set from Stampin' Up is so easy to use, I'm off to get creative!

One Layer Cards

Another simple card....but I'm liking it.  It' a Sympathy card for 4 Crafty Chicks.

The picture doesn't do it justice I don't think.  I've brushed Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant through a mask  on to plain card and stamped the flowers from Stampin' Up's Too Kind set.

And so as to finish on a happy note:

I've changed the theme of this card to a "Happy Birthday" and used the colours from the challenge on CAS Colours and Sketches

I think this technique is so effective!  Hope you like them!
