May Open House–7th May 2011

IMG_9464I don’t get where the time goes!! It only seems like last week when we were anticipating the Mini Catalogue back in March….so it’s about time we had a look and a play with some of that lovely new stuff from said Mini….dontcha’ think!

Now anyone can make a card….I think we proved that last time! LOL!  And since then, even my hubby has had a go!  It’s addictive!  So if you’re craft-curious this open house is for you...oh, and it’s a chance to catch up and have a coffee and a chat – not forgetting the biscuits.

Everyone is welcome but just so I know how many packets of biscuits to get, please let me know if you’d like to come.  For details, check my new Events page…

FYI – I made a housey card for the occasion using the Neighborhood jumbo wheel.  I’ve watercoloured the image, backed it onto Crumb Cake and trimmed it with Cherry Cobbler and DSP Patterns Paper.  Hope you like it.

New Home, new challenge

Wow!  Where does the time go!  Can’t believe it’s sooo late again!!  I think I need to hide my new stuff so I can get some sleep!  But until then….

I’ve created this card for the Sketch 109 over on Card Patterns.  I don’t know what I’d do without this blog sometimes!  It always helps with inspiration!

For the card above, I’ve “rolled” my new jumbo wheel ‘Neighborhood’ in Soft Suede and matted it using the Brights DSP Pattern stack, both from Stampin’Up.  I took the plunge and used one of the pieces of Crumb Cake smooth card I’ve bought recently (it’s all soo nice, I spend most the night flicking through it and admiring it!!!)

Now I haven’t yet….but I am thinking of blinging it.  A subtle gem or two in the corner might just finish it off.  Let me know what you think.

Right….now I’m off to bed! Nope, don’t try and stop me!  I need to sleep.  And as I’m off to my class tomorrow night, I’ll be back friday with an exciting plan!plan. So if you want to know how to earn free stamp sets and other products from Stampin’ Up!……..COME BACK FRIDAY Smile.

Nice and CAS….

Following on from my disaster for last weeks challenge ("Ever get the feeling you missed the point"), I didn’t want to miss the “Less is More” challenge this week!!  I’ve just finished my “Off the Edge” OLC.

Now, I know there is at least one of you out there that will think my 4-year old daughter coloured this (you know who you are) but I’m going to risk the ridicule Smile

I’ve used HobbyArts Town Scene-It stamps and coloured it in using chalks and my Stampin’ Up blender pen (I love it).  I think the chalks really give a good texture to the colouring, and I also think the Balamory look is funky!

But don’t look too closely…you might see all the smudgesSmile

What do you reckon?
